Extends Lead in Projected $10 Billion Content Management Market

SOMERS, N.Y (March 14, 2000) – IBM today unveiled the IBM Content Manager, a first-of-a kind offering that helps companies manage the exploding amount of digital information now facing organizations in the e-business world.
With today’s announcement, IBM is uniquely positioned to help customers integrate, leverage and share all forms of digital content for increased productivity, operational efficiencies and competitive advantage.

They plan to further expand their use of digital content by providing self-service instruction to their stores.

USAA currently manages more than two billion documents with IBM content management technology. Additionally, it can search across a variety of content and data repositories such as production imaging, computer-generated output, document management and multimedia repositories, delivering a unified search result. The IBM Content Manager, when combined with the recently announced IBM Enterprise Information Portal, provides a single point of access and integration for IBM and non-IBM data and content stores helping customers truly leverage the vast amounts of information across their business.
